INSITE in Transition

25 Years of INSITE – Not Just Looking Back, But Especially: Standing Firm for What Lies Ahead

CEO Dr Matthias Conradt talks about new paths in counselling, societal responsibility – and why a bit of humour should never be missing.

Pride That Can Be Measured – But Not in Numbers

“I feel fulfilled when our work is perceived as helpful by our clients,” says Matthias Conradt.

His pride in close customer relationships and new employees doesn’t come from a pure growth perspective, but from a deep understanding of what INSITE is fundamentally about: Reliable, professional, and at the same time innovative counselling – that truly helps.

“Our clients and their employees are our reason for being.”

Transformation – Both Outside and In

In recent years, INSITE has undergone significant transformation – not just structurally, but also culturally and technologically.

Being part of a large healthcare group like Asklepios not only brought more stability, but also new demands on the leadership role. “The acquisition was definitely a turning point – in a positive sense,” says Matthias Conradt.

Digital processes, remote counselling, new technologies, and of course: AI in psychosocial work – these are the topics currently shaping INSITE.

“We need a lot of energy and brainpower to stay flexible while maintaining the highest standards.”

Care, Responsibility, and Change

INSITE is more than just counselling – it is part of a comprehensive preventive solution when it comes to addressing gaps in health and corporate health provision.

“I personally believe that the current provision for mental health issues is a huge problem – for companies, but also for society as a whole.”

That’s why INSITE aims not just to support, but to actively shape – with an ethical compass, a view beyond the immediate, and a clear commitment to developing innovative care concepts for clients, employees, and their families.

The Start of a Trusting Partnership

The early years at INSITE are inseparably linked for Matthias Conradt to the founder Dr Hansjörg Becker. The two would regularly meet at the espresso machine – not only to get their caffeine fix, but for exchange, advice, and sometimes even a well-timed joke.

“When I was feeling down, Hansjörg would tell a joke that cheered me up.”

These small, everyday moments formed a trusting relationship, which ultimately made the smooth transition to the new leadership possible.

Humour as a Constant – and a Phone in the Side Door

Despite all the professionalisation, the INSITE team has kept one thing: humour.
“We sometimes experience difficult, serious situations – but we’ve never lost our courage or sense of humour.”
An example? One colleague once caused a four-hour detour because she thought she had lost her phone. In the end, it was – quite unspectacularly – in the side door.

“We laughed a lot – it helps in everyday life.”

A Look Ahead

For the coming years, Matthias Conradt has a clear compass:

INSITE should be the "balancing organ for organisations" – a place where people find direction, experience stability, and regain the ability to manage their own affairs.

“In ten years, a lot will have changed. But at the core, the question remains: How do we keep people and organisations healthy – even in difficult times? How do we keep working people in control?”

INSITE in one word?

Matthias Conradt doesn’t have to think long:

“Colourful.”

It’s hard to find a better closing word – because colourful means diversity, openness, movement. And that’s exactly what has defined INSITE for 25 years.
